So June went by way too fast. Summer really needs to slow down. We did a lot of fun stuff this month.
Fitness
My family, during Father’s Day weekend, always runs the No Label 1st Street 5K. We have run it every year since the race began. We love it. We never run in that area so it is once a year and it ends at a brewery, No Label, which has a playground. We also normally have friends who run it too. It was a lot of fun.
There is a free race series called Flash Mob which was on Thursday nights. This race series was cancelled a few years ago but they brought it back this year. They do it for 4 Thursdays in a row in June. It is normally a cross county type run so grass, dirt, trails which is great since I never get to run that anymore. I was really happy to see this race series back again.
I also got to go to Body Pump a couple of times in June. Body Pump is an hour weight lifting class which I enjoy. I normally do not do it during the school year because of crossfit/running but they have a Friday morning class I can fit in.
Toddler Activities
In June, my son only went to school on Wednesdays and Fridays. We have been going to a lot of storytimes and a couple of playdates. One of the storytimes we go to is right by my husbands work so we sometimes go eat lunch with him. One Monday I had signed him up for a special program at the zoo too. We learned about Komodo Dragons and pet lizards. He has also been progressing at swim class which is so much fun to see. He has been having a great summer.
Other
I have done 2 out of my 3 teacher trainings for the summer. We also went to Kentucky Lakes from yesterdays post. For Fathers Day we went to a minor league baseball game. Even though we have a major league team and we will go to a game this year, we like going to the minor league games for Father’s Day because it is smaller. We sit on the grass and watch the whole game. The stadium also has a lot for kids to do like splash pad, playground, blow-up toy things.
This summer needs to slow down.
