Stitch Fix March 2018 Review

I received my 28th Stitch Fix yesterday. So I quickly took some pictures. I really have no idea what I am going to keep.

If you are new to Stitch Fix, this is how it works:

1. Fill out your Style Profile. This gives detail on your style, sizes, budget and anything else like a link to your pinterest board.

2. Once you have “ordered” your box, they will send you 5 items from a personal stylists.  It is a $20 styling fee which is applied as a credit toward anything you keep.

3. Try everything on. They send you Style Cards with recommendations on how to wear your outfit.  You have three days to decide what you do and do not want.

4. Buy what you like and return the rest. If you keep all 5 items, you get 25% off your entire purchase.  Don’t like something, they send you a pre-paid mailing bag to drop in the mailbox.  It is free shipping.

Here is what I got:

My stylist I had in January was on vacation so I got a new stylist again. I also get advice from my husband and two friends through group messenger.

Nine West Speak Up Satin Printed Flats $69

I am a sucker for flats, especially pretty flats. These would look cute with jeans and a simple shirt or like black pants with a solid top. My problem is the price as I am on a budget for the time being. So I am undecided.

French Grey Gerarda Ruffle Hem Brushed Knit Dress $54

This dress is a little heavy but really soft and comfy. My problem, it is a little too short. So from the front, it looks fine, in the back though, the ruffles are on my butt. My husband liked this one the best and didn’t think it looked too short. My friends liked the dress too but haven’t seen it in person.

41 Hawthorn Dabit Sheer Detail Blouse $54 and Liverpool Annemarie Skinny Jean $78

Don’t like the blouse. The color looks gross on me and there is a gap in the buttons where my bust is. So it is definitely no. My friends were not a fan of the grey jeans, but my husband really likes them. So again, not sure.

Skies are Blue Mishella Lace Yoke Knit Top $58 and same jeans

My friends all like this top but I am unsure. The shirt color and lace color just don’t seem like they go together but you can’t tell by this picture.

So I am not sure what to keep this time and what to send back. I have a couple of days to decide.

February Update

February is finished and as a teacher, it is one of my least favorite months. Not really sure why. April is pretty horrible but February goes real slow even though there are only 28 days. Anyway..

So in February, I could start running again, two weeks post-op. I only did 3 miles for a long time just to keep in safe. I would run every after day and do yoga on the days I didn’t run. I personally do Yoga by Adrienne on Youtube. A week before I was cleared to do all workouts, I did do a slow 8 miler with friends which was nice. It was the beginning of Rodeo season so the Trailriders were headed downtown for the Rodeo Parade. We ran a route where we could see the horses come into town.

I am also doing the Crossfit Open. So my first workout back was 18.1. I hadn’t been cleared yet but was going to get cleared in 4 days so I decided to go ahead and do it. I did the scaled workout because I promised to ease back in. The workout was 20 minutes of 8 knee to chest, 10 DB Clean and Jerk and then 12 cal-row. I did 282 reps which was really good I found out. I felt really good afterwards.

We finally went and saw the movie Jumanji which was very entertaining for us. My husband also went camping with one of his buddies for the weekend so I had a Mommy and Eli weekend which is always fun.

Otherwise, we just hung out as a family. We are huge Olympic fans so we had that on the TV pretty much every night. Another big deal in our house is that our son started floating on his back by himself during swim lessons. We were all excited for that.

Kidbox Spring 2018 Review

A couple of weeks ago, I got an e-mail about if I want to order a spring Kidbox for my son. I haven’t ordered him a box in some time now and he is starting to change sizes so I thought it might be perfect time to order him a box. In reality, I probably should have skipped it because I am getting all my fun hospital bills but its only money, right?? Oh, I am being completely facetious with that last comment.

Here is how it works:

  1. Go to the website and fill out a style survey. They ask for things such as colors to avoid, what do you need more of, what will they not wear, their style.
  2. They only ship out 5 times a year but you can skip a season if you would like.
  3. Review the box. You have 7 days before you are billed. If you keep everything, it is $98. If you keep only a few pieces, they offer it at a discount.
  4. Ship back what you do not want.
  5. If you kept it all, pick a charity you want Kidbox to donate clothes to.

The information card

  1. Puma Boys 2 Piece Top and Short Set $42, their price $32

I love this set. My son is pretty active and involved in sports. He plays soccer, swims, just started yoga and loves to trail run so this is perfect for him.

2. DKNY Boys 3 Piece Set $66, their price $50

The set is a jacket, jeans and short sleeve. My son does like layers so we will not be wearing the jacket most likely.

3. ART+EDEN Boys graphic tee $29, their price $22.

My son loves dinosaurs so this is a win.

4. U.S. Polo Assn. Boys Short Sleeve Stripe Shirt $18, their price $13.

Cute button up shirt.

The little giraffe stuffed animal, I think came from the box, otherwise I have no idea where it came from.

  1. This is the back of the DKNY outfit.

2. U.S Polo Assn. Boys Twill Short with belt $24, their price $17

We wear shorts like 10 months out of the year so these are perfect.

3. Puma Boys Performance Tee $22, their price $17.

Another great short but my athletic kid.

Total came to $201 but their box is only $98. For some reason, I had a discount which made my total to $78.40. I don’t know how I got a discount but I will keep it. Want to try Kidbox? Go here.

3 Recipes in 1

This is a long overdue recipe post. I have been cooking but my husband has not been great at taking pictures. So here it is without any pictures:

Crockpot White Chicken Chili

Husbands Rating: 4/5, he said there was a lot of liquid in it which was my fault.

Ease: 3.5/5

Changes: So I did not use oregano or garlic. Here is where I made a mistake, it says to take out the chicken to shred. I decided not to do that and shred in my slow cooker which means I got a lot of liquid as I was taking the chicken pieces out. So me trying to save time actually made it take more time.

Recipe: You can find it here.

Cheesy Italian Rice with Sausage Recipe

Husbands Rating: 5/5

Ease: 4.5/5

Changes: I did not use spinach but broccoli instead and my husband really enjoyed it.

Recipe: You can find it here

3 Ingredient Taco Chicken

Husbands Rating: 5/5

Ease: 5/5

Changes: None. He does recommend bringing some avocado/cheese/ranch whatever if you are making like a burrito.

Barbella Box February 2018 Review

So in February, I forgot to put my Barbella Box on hold, or I didn’t forget but was too late. I really didn’t want this one because I knew I had some big medical bills to pay. I also owed money for some rooms on an upcoming family vacation. So this was an expense I didn’t need. I only keep this subscription just because they once had a pair of shorts I really wanted.

  1. Vull Sport Speckled Barbellsa Sports Bra ($48)

So this sports bra is not a high neck nor a low neck, just right in the middle. It comes with removable pads too. It’s really pretty, it is white/gray color with dark gray specks. I wore it during my workout on Friday night and it was very comfy, supportive and you didn’t really notice you were wearing a sports bra. This one was made just for the box but it is very similar to the Vull Sports Evolve Bra except this one has slightly wider shoulder straps. You can find that bra here.

2. LSTN Sound Co Crescent Wireless Bluetooth Earbuds ($99)

I don’t wear bluetooth earbuds but my husband does. What is a shame is he just got a nice pair for Christmas.

3. EXO Chalk ($14.99)

This is just a block of chalk. I didn’t know how expensive chalk is. While my gym has chalk buckets, I will be giving this to my husband because he has a chalk bag since he is getting into rock climbing.

4. RX bar Chocolate Sea Salt ($2.50)

Just 4 ingredients make this bar. A lot of people I know really like these. I am not a bar person so it went to my husband.

5. Barbella Strong Vinyl Sticker ($1.99)

A sticker.

So that is what I got in this one. I do really like the sports bra which is the price of the box so it is a win, especially with a $100 pair of earbuds.
