Hello readers! So this is my first post for my lifestyle blog. What can you expect to read about: motherhood and working full-time outside of the house, misadventures in cooking, workouts, travel, fashion(or maybe lack of) and just trying to juggle everything.
Now I am not an expert in anything I type about, unless it is about myself, nor do I pretend to be. So why am I blogging? I have always loved writing and I read tons of blogs. I even had blogs back in the day when I was a student, which I am sure would all be about drama among my friends. Now that I am an adult, I thought I would give it another go.
So to start us off, I have a cooking post. Little backstory, I was never taught common domesticated traits. I have also been a vegetarian since I was 8. However, I am married to a man who is not and we are raising our son to be a meat eater. Every weekish, I try a new recipe and he gives me feedback. If he does not like it, it is not to recipes fault, it is the cooks fault.
Last weeks recipe: Chicken Bacon Ranch Casserole
Husbands rating: 4/5. He says it was a tad dry and maybe needed a little bit more sauce. Since he takes it to work, it was in the fridge and then he heats it up at his office.
Ease: 3.5/5. I sometimes forget how long it takes for chicken to cook on my stove. I also cooked all the bacon in the package instead of the strips I needed so that too extra time.
Changes: This recipe calls for multiple pans but since I hate cleaning, I cooked the pasta first and then used that same pan for the sauce. We also used like a vegetable rotini and I did not have heavy cream so I used half-and-half which is probably why we didn’t get enough sauce. I also did not decorate with parsley.
Recipe: I get most of recipes from Buzzfeed’s weekly meal article. This one can be found on the cooking blog Damn Delicious. You can find the recipe here.
Picture: Here is what mine looked like. If you go to her blog, it looks so beautiful.
So first blog post is a success!
